Christmas Playlist

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!! Seriously, I am in love with fall, winter, and especially Christmas. Everyone is a little softer, decorations go up and there is holiday music ringing from every speaker. Say what you want about christmas music but trust me when I say, there is no quicker way to get into the festive holiday spirit than by pumping up the Christmas tunes and doing a little dancing around your kitchen.

I swear. It’s an instant mood lift. Christmas music always brings great memories from past years to mind, so this year I’ve decided to write my very own Ultimate Christmas Playlist. These are the songs that are constantly streaming through our home, and don’t worry, “All I Want For Christmas Is you” by Mariah Carey is not on my list. Apparently I am the only person in the universe that doesn’t want to hear that song every minute, or ever really. Sorry if it’s a favorite of yours. I just truly  believe there are so many great classics and new versions that deserve more airtime.

They are in no particular order, but I’ll let you know which are my favorite. Just kidding, they’re all my favorite. 😁

1. Train – Shake Up Christmas

I had actually never heard this song until Mike and I got together but it quickly became our family favorite. It’s happy, upbeat and has lots of positivity. We listen to it on christmas morning when we open our presents.

2. Zooey Deschanel and Leon Redbone – Baby, It’s Cold Outside

This song is my all time favorite. First off, she has the most beautiful feminine voice that fits this song wonderfully. His voice is the perfect pair, with his deep baritone belting. I mean it really can’t get any better than this song. I’m obsessed all year with it.

Here are a few other amazing versions of this song..

This video is just absolutely adorable. Something about little kids reenacting it makes me smile.  Plus it doesn’t hurt that Michael Bublé is steamy hot and has the voice to match.

And of course, The ever classic..
Johnny Mercer and Margaret  Whiting.

3. Pentatonix – Sleigh Ride

A Capella christmas music? Yes, please. Pretty much anything from them is amazing. And this isn’t their first year of christmas music.

I also love this version of Hallelujah. They are all around amazing. Be sure to add some of them to your winter playlist!

4. Anything by Michael Bublé

But here are my current favorite from his christmas album.

Okay total guilty pleasures moment..

5. Justin Beiber – Mistletoe

I know, I know.. But he’s just so damn cute and his voice is so soft and festive in this song!

It’s catchy and easy to sing along to with family, especially little kiddos.

Now onto a few classics, because really, what would christmas be without Dean Martin, Bing Crosby or Frank Sinatra?

6.  Dean Martin – Let It Snow!

I love Dean Martin. I Love everything about him.. This song is perfect for us in Colorado as we generally get snow in December but its always fun to sing it leading up to christmas. There is nothing more magically than seeing fresh snow on Christmas morning.

7.  Bing Crosby – White Christmas
