It is that time of the year again! SUMMER!! So let’s chat about what Beauty& Health products you are going to HAVE to have in your summer bag for the beach, the river, the mountains; Wherever you may be going!
All of these tips are important for not only you, but your little ones as well,(in my opinion of course) so if you have little kiddos running around with you this summer be sure to use all of these summer tips on them as well. At the end of the day it’ll keep you and them happy and healthy!
1. Rose Water
Rose water is the hands down best thing you can pop in your bag! Rose water is amazing for so many different uses and that is the reason it is number one on this list! I’ll pop a short video below with some of the reasons that I love Rose Water. Especially the Refreshed Rose Water from the Younique Line.
So not only is it amazing as a toner and aftershave, it helps with puffiness and red spots and is a sun burn reducing, setting spray! BUT it also helps to maintain the pH balance of your skin, and can help to balance out any excess oil as well as being extremely moisturizer & healing. This little bottle is basically your magic skin and hair fixer! Rose water is antiseptic, anti inflammatory, and anti-bacterial meaning it’ll help with dry scalp and dandruff, as well as broken capillaries and fine lines and wrinkles in the face and skin.
Bonus points – The scent of roses is said to have powerful mood boosting abilities. I mean, HELLO?! who doesn’t love the smell of a fresh-cut bouquet of rose?! Spray this baby on your pillow to help you relax before bed.
Water is so important. Our bodies are full of it after all. It’s not only important for your health and well-being, but it is also extremely important for your skin and hair care needs. As we all know, are bodies are primarily made up of water and we also lose water all day long, thus making it important to be putting enough water back into our bodies.
But what does water have to do with your skin? Well my friends, to be honest with you, There are not any concrete studies or research to suggest that adding water to your diet will definitely change your skin. BUT let’s look at it this way, your skin is made up of cells, correct? Correct. Our cells are made up of water and if there isn’t enough water in your body your cells will definitely not work properly or function at their absolute best.
The easiest way for me to explain how much water you should be drinking is a simple little math equation. Not my math equation, but one I’ve been told from literally everyone, ever.
Take your Body weight and divide it in half.
so if Jill weights 130 pounds, you would do 130 divided by 2, which equals 65. So 65 oz is what Jill should drink daily. This handy water bottle below is 48 oz so if you carry a large one like I do, you’ll only have to fill it one and about a quarter to get your full dose of water for the day.
I personally use this Nalgene bottle that holds 48 oz of water. I find if I carry this big water bottle around it makes me want to drink it until it’s empty so I don’t have to carry it anymore.
Plus with all the fun in the sun you and your gang will be having, staying hydrated is an absolute must!
3. Sun Screen
Sunscreen is so important for your skin. The sun can be extremely beneficial to our skin, but as we all know it can also be very damaging and leave your face and body in shambles. Be sure to protect your skin this summer and take care of that beautiful face!
Also, it’s important to note that something that has an SPF of 100 will not allow for you to be in the sun longer than an SPF of 40. Every persons skin will be different, thus the time it will give you protection is based on individuals, your best bet is to just apply and reapply every 2 hours.
And Don’t forget Sunscreen for your FACE! This is what I used last summer and it worked well for me. I’ll definitely be getting it again this year.
