Drug Store Masks and Peels

We all have zits.
I personally am a picker. I struggle to not pick a zit into submission. I hate the idea of having that pus in my skin. It literally drives me crazy.
On the other end though, Some people are great about treating and taking proper care of zits and akin concerns. So in an effort to make changes in my life, I am a reformed skin picker. Well not really. But I am trying. 😊

Skin care is so important. I recently read an article that said by the age of 18 women should be using eye creams and treating skin for wrinkles and fine lines. 18?!
At 18 I was not worried about my skin. I was worried about boys, summer, and parties. But maybe I’m the only one. Maybe you, all of my beautiful readers, were  worried about aging and your skin at 18. Or maybe you are 18 now. I guess there is no way for me to really tell. But this is all neither here nor there.

In an attempt to clear my skin of hormone driven zits I have been experimenting with a few different face masks, deep pore cleaning peels and the works. All of the items I have purchased are things you can get at your local drugstore. I purchased most of them from Walgreens or from King Soopers. I choose to do a drugstore posting first, because I believe it’s more universally easy for women to run out and grab something. Now obviously, skin care plays a pretty big part in banishing these obnoxious skin problems, but I was looking for a few quick fixes.

I started with the Self Heating Biroe Mask

Interesting to say the least. The box comes with 4 (maybe 5 if you get the one with the bonus pack) little packets full of the right amount of product. So there is no guessing on how much you need to use. Be sure to cut the package open before you wet your face. It can be a big pain trying to open these things up. This product is full of charcoal which is supposed to clean dirt and other oils out of your pores.

It states on the package to apply to a slightly damp face so that it will begin to heat up. Well it definitely heated up!! I knew it was coming, yet somehow, standing there in my undies I managed to scream and jump a little at the heating affect. It just came out of no where. I put it on as directed and while I was rubbing it in, all of a sudden it started to get hot. So be warned, it might still startle you a bit.

I have only used it a few times and though it’s nice I haven’t noticed any real results. I will continue to use it and see if it helps out.  It does feel nice when it is on but I didn’t see any

The Yes to Grapefruit Pore Perfecting Peel

This, Everything about this is a big YES. I love the way it smells, I love the way it feels and I love the way it makes my skin look. When I first decided to give this stuff a shoot I wasn’t sure what to expect. I am beyond happy that I decided to give it a try. It is amazing. I have only used it a handful of times as it says up to three times a week on the bottle, But I LOVE it. I feel like my skin looks better and feels cleaner after applying this product. It also dries nicely. No itchy or uncomfortable feeling.

It is designed to make your skin look brighter while leaving your pores smaller and cleaner. It also helps even skin tones and diminish dark spots. Grapefruit is FULL of vitamin C and other antioxidants. The product is also full of other citrus fruit extract such as lemon and orange which can really help to brighten up your skin.

I give this product a big A+. I loved using it and then applying my uplift eye serum and Divine moisturizer after.

So there you have it!

Two drug store products for mask and peels. Overall I think they were both nice, but I will probably continue to use the Yes to Grapefruit one more often.
